Welcome
to our 2008 Halloween Costume Contest. All the winners are now posted at
the bottom of the page. There
will me more updates (even after the contest ends) as I get all the pictures Photoshop'ed and cleaned up.
Click on each picture to see a bigger version.
Our first group contestants were Lauren Hunter, Emily Hoffman and Victoria Wiles
in their Renaissance Fair costumes.
Lauren Hunter came as Ayanami Rei from Neon Genesis.
Emily Hoffman came as Riza Hawkeye from Full Metal Alchemist.
Victoria Wiles came as a human PS3 that she calls PS3-tah!
Jeana Porter came as Aeris Gainsborough from Final Fantasy 7.
Emily Hoffman and Lauren Hunter also came as Wii-tan (a Nintendo Wii Remote and
Nunchuk)
As you might imagine, the PS3 and the Wii controllers did NOT get along with one
another at first!
But after a bit, they finally decided to play nice with one another.
Antigone Childs came as a very pretty Cinderella this year.
Steven Ongemach came this year as Batman in an almost completely homemade
costume. I took the second picture a little later to show some of the detail.
He used lots of shelf paper, and foam rubber on this one.
T. J. Helms came as Roy Mustang from Full Metal Alchemist.
Our friend Heather Price came as Atil Quimby - an original character that she
created.
Ernest Cooper came as Juggalotacus. It looks ICP inspired to me.
Timothy and Kaitlyn Burkette came as Hannah Montana and her Jedi Bodyguard.
Ain't she cute?
Casey Roan came as The Spirit. I hope the movie is as good as his costume!
Josh Hatchell came back to the Web after a long absence feeling 'Super'.
Katelyn came as Batgirl this year but she LOVES her Manga!
Justin Debord came as the Incredible Hulk
HULK WANT PLAY Wii TOO!!! RARRH!
Eric Sloan knows "what evil lurks in the hearts of men" as The Shadow.
Alicia Schwalm came as Sesshoumaru from the Inu Yasha anime & manga.
Stephanie A Williams came as Vampyr Girl
Vanessa Case (of the world famous Yarborough's) came as Snow White.
Lynda Sterling came as Arwen (from Lord of the Rings)
Angela Sterling came as Sleeping Beauty.
Jonathan Sterling came as a Star Wars Rebel Commando Scout.
Matthew Sterling came as a Star Wars Rebel Commando Infiltrator.
Ash Smith came as a glow in the dark Ghoul. (we tried to take a pic to show the
glow, but it didn't work)
Emily Pye came as the Joker a-la The Dark Knight Returns.
Amanda Goldsmith came as Madame Fortune (but Stephen messed her picture up)
Sorry, Amanda!
KT Shafer came as a cute Misa-Misa Amane from Death Note (and she even made us
cakes!!)
Stephen Jeffcoat came as Pumpkin Pi. Hehe. Do you get it?
Tara Gibbons came as a dead-sexy Pirate Wench.
Danielle Gardner came dressed as a Gangsta (and was even flashing her gang
signs)
Annie Fitch came almost dressed as the Tin Man? (and she was flashing
stuff too)
Sarah
Bell reluctantly let us take her picture as Dorothy (but she made Danielle and
Annie stand with her).
Jennifer Clark came as The Wicked Witch of the West (or East) and she had 'Junk
in that Trunk'.
Alex Clark came as the Crow (although he didn't seem too happy about it)
Teona Clark (a past winner) came as Red Sonja but a wardrobe 'malfunction' cut
her appearance short.
Jesse Hanley came as Link (and it was a good costume idea!)
Storm Jordan came as Captain Jack Sparrow and Devin Jordan came as another
Pirate. (they brought a Pretty Pirate Girl along but she didn't sign in)
Christopher B. came as a Junior Hitman.
Emily, Lauren, and Victoria came back Saturday as characters from Pretear.
Emily was Himeno, Lauren was Mannen, and Victoria was Goh.
My family all came as Naruto Characters. (and NO, we can't win) Debra was
Lady Tsunade (The boss-lady)
Logan came as Naruto (from the Shippuden Manga)
Corbin came as Gaara of the Sand (from the Shippuden Manga)
I
came as Master Jiraiya the Toad Sage (also known as Pervy Sage)
And now let's get on to the WINNERS!! This year, The Tangled Web had nothing to do with the voting because we contracted three outside judges to do it for us. All three of our judges have experience with Cosplay or costumes and have agreed to help us out so that we don't have any unfair prejudice in the voting. None of the judges knew any of the contestants and we provided them larger pictures to help with the choosing.
Here are the winners:
Best Male Costume - 1st Place - Jesse Hanley as Link $50.00 cash AND a $50 Gift Card
Best Male Costume - 2nd Place - Steven Ongemach as Batman $25.00 Cash AND a $25.00 Gift Card
